Old Fort Banking Company Awards 2025 Scholarship Winners

TIFFIN, OH – The Old Fort Banking Company is proud to announce the recipients of its annual scholarship awards, supporting outstanding local students as they pursue higher education. This year’s scholarships have been awarded to four exemplary graduates attending area universities in the fall.

 

Abigail Felske – Tiffin University

Abigail Felske, daughter of Michael and Lindsay Felske, has been awarded the Old Fort Banking Company scholarship for Tiffin University. Abigail will pursue a double major in Justice Advocacy and Forensic Psychology with aspirations of becoming a lawyer. A graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, Abigail was a three-sport athlete—participating in cross country, basketball, and track—and earned 12 scholar-athlete honors. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. Her community involvement includes co-founding Kenzie’s Kitchen, volunteering as a youth basketball coach, assisting with the North Coast Greyhound Connection, and volunteering at the Humane Society, church babysitting room, and her school’s athletic department.

Adalynn Schumm – Heidelberg University

Adalynn Schumm, daughter of Andy and Sara Schumm, is the recipient of the Old Fort Banking Company scholarship for Heidelberg University. She plans to major in Early Childhood Education. A graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, Adalynn was actively involved in cheerleading as a member of the varsity football and basketball cheer teams, competition cheer, and flag squad. She also dedicated time to peer tutoring and helping with readiness activities for both the cheer and flag squads.

Grace Knight – University of Findlay

Grace Knight, daughter of Travis and Jennifer Knight, has been awarded the Old Fort Banking Company scholarship for the University of Findlay, where she plans to study Psychology. A graduate of Liberty-Benton High School, Grace was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Z-Club, and Hancock Youth Leadership. Her extensive volunteer efforts include supporting events such as Coats for Christmas, various canned food drives, concession stand work, student orientation, and making blankets for the Humane Society.

Grant Bomer – Heidelberg University

 

Grant Bomer, son of Aaron and Kristen Bomer, is the recipient of the Gillmor Charitable Foundation scholarship for Heidelberg University. Grant will pursue a dual focus in Nursing and Sport Management, along with an MBA. A graduate of Lakota High School, Grant earned National Honor Society honors and is graduating with an Associate of Science degree. He was also active in Student Council and excelled as a multi-sport athlete, receiving All-Academic Ohio recognition in wrestling. His volunteer efforts include organizing and working the Lakota Blood Drive, coaching at the Lakota Biddy Wrestling Tournament and flag football, umpiring baseball and softball, refereeing wrestling, shoveling snow for St. James Parish, and mentoring young athletes.

Since its inception in 1994, the Old Fort Banking Company Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships to 92 exceptional students from the region. The Bank remains committed to supporting the academic and personal growth of local youth as they pursue higher education and meaningful careers.
